The Centro Social Madre Madalena in Porto Alegre received another much-needed donation recently! The Rio Grande do Sul chapter of the Campanha do Agasalho, a winter clothing campaign through the Defesa Civil, donated coats and other winter items as Brazil gets ready to head into their winter months. They were able to deliver several boxes and bags of clothes, shoes, and blankets to the center to give to the people who need it the most.
These donations, along with other provisions boxes, are especially crucial for people in vulnerable situations. Last year, Campanha do Agasalho handed out about 700,000 items throughout the region! Many families are still struggling from the effects of Covid-19, so these kinds of donations to centers like Madre Madalena are welcomed indeed.
